There are few more appealing places to spend a week than the shores of Lake Bled. On this immersive Slovenia tour we begin by exploring this picture-perfect body of water, including famous Bled Island. We head into the scenic countryside to get a taste of Slovene culture. And, proving that Bled is no one-off, we tour stunning Bohinj, the country’s largest glacial lake. In between, there’s time to wander at your own pace, enjoying the gloriously fresh mountain air.

Day 2 - Bled - Bled Countryside

We begin with an orientation walk around Bled. The glacial Lake Bled, surrounded by mountains and forests, forms part of the Julian Alps and you’ll get that fairytale feeling on your first glimpse of Bled Island. This tiny tear-shaped island is home to a striking 15th-century church. This afternoon we’ll head out to explore a combination of scenic countryside and Slovene cultural heritage. We’ll pass through small, pretty villages as well as the town of Radovljica, which boasts one of the best-preserved medieval town squares. We'll also enjoy a spot of schnapps tasting at a local farm.
